Out of the 6 games supported 4 of them are available translated in pt-BR:

For Summer Resort:
Summer Resort 1 - Archived here
Summer Resort 2 - Lost media but was translated, would be archived below this URL
Summer Resort 3 - Archived here
Summer Resort 4 - Archived here

For Hollywood Terror:

Episode 1 - Archived here
Episode 2 - Was apparently never translated to pt-BR, at the very least there are no mentions to it on the games page of Scooby Doo from around the time it should be released.

Would it be possible to extract the texts from those games and add to this project?

Also, a bit off-topic, but I didn't see an option to switch between en and es translation on the hosted website.

Note: All pt-BR versions of Summer Resort have been added to Flashpoint a while ago. The available pt-BR version of Hollywood Terror is being submitted today.

Wow, what an amazing find!! I wasn't aware that original CCSR games were translated to any other languages by the original developers. I did the Spanish translation by myself, but there were official translations for the Scooby games to Spanish which I extracted the text from. I can try to see if I can extract the Portuguese strings from those links. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will look into this soon.

As far as changing the language, you should be able to click the settings cog at the top right and see the option to select the language: (Also, when the Portuguese language is added, it should automatically select that language if the user's browser language is set to pt).

Thanks for looking into it!

I look forward to playing those games in a superior way and in my own native language. Specially Summer Resort 3, which was my favorite and the one I played the most out of the bunch!

@MateusRodCosta If you're interested, can you please translate the strings for Episode 2, and Scooby Episode 2 since we can't find those originals? I've got Episode 1 & 4 translation almost done, I still need to do Episode 3 and Scooby Episode 1.

Both are available to edit under the brazil branch. Basically you just leave the keys the same but substitute out the English text, and then you can open a PR against that branch when you're happy with your translations.

CCSR Episode 2 Portuguese Translation files:

Scooby Episode 2:

If you don't feel like doing it, I can use DeepL and translate everything on my own, the problem there is just that I don't know how good it will turn out. Let me know.

Sure, I will start the translation today but it might take the weekend to finish it.
I don't remember very well how long the games are.

Also the translation might not be accurate without playing the game if I don't know the context of the dialogues.

I will do my best and add it in a new branch!

Thanks for the help! No worries if it's not perfect or the context seems weird. Once you play through the ones that were already translated and then play through your own translations it should be clear what needs to be fixed, if anything.

@mattbruv Can you give me some info on how to serve the games from the brazil branch locally?
I'm not very used with node/npm projects.

No problem. This is definitely something I need to add to the Readme, because the process to set up a dev environment isn't exactly as straightforward as normal projects. You can follow the sequence of commands here in the github actions script to see the series of commands that are necessary for it to build. The only difference for development is to run npm run dev instead of npm run build as the last step. That will start a dev server which you can navigate to locally.

One thing to note is that when you change anything to do with the translation files, you need to run setup.py again, because that script processes the translation files and puts them where they need to be in the build.

I've merged my progress into main, so there are three episodes fully translated on the main site now. I'm still working on Scooby 1 since we have the source for that, just haven't gotten to it yet. We can work on CCSR Episode 2 and Scooby Episode 2 whenever.

Feel free to check out CCSR Episode 1, 3, or 4 and see how the translation is.
