Ability to hide users below a given power level in the membership list

We almost get this for free on LL; just need to spec a threshold below which clients should politely not show joins/parts or even membership of given users in a room. Aka auditorium mode. (Do we really not have a bug for this already?)

Is this feature planned?

It has been mentioned in several issues and discussions. The ones mentioned above, plus:
