Allow HTTP and disable HTTP -> HTTPS redirect

I'm running a DEV server for testing and would like to allow HTTP requests but the setup forces a 301 redirect whenever I try to access the site via HTTP to HTTPS.

Can anyone help with what I need to change to disable this behaviour?

I found a similar closed issue that addresses disabling the HTTP to HTTPS redirection in the docker-magento setup. The solution involves modifying the Nginx configuration:

1. Access the Nginx configuration by executing:

   docker-compose exec -it app sh
   vi /etc/nginx/conf.d/default.conf

2. Comment out or remove the lines responsible for the HTTP to HTTPS redirection:

   server {
     listen 8000;
     return 301 https://$host$request_uri;
   }

3. Restart the application with:

   bin/restart app

4. Update the base_url in your app/etc/env.php file to use HTTP.

Additionally, be aware of browser redirect cache. You may need to open your developer tools, check "Disable Cache" on the Network tab, and explicitly input http://your-domain.test in the URL bar, as modern browsers default to HTTPS ^[1].
