it should either list the current version or say "select version"
or just "versions"

I was just having a think about this and I think the best option would be for this initial text would be Version 1, Version 2 etc. (whichever is currently selected).

The rationale is :

  • if it includes the full accession it's not clear it's about versions
  • but there is an expectation that it will tell you what is currently selected, as that's how dropdowns work

IMO this would be the best of both worlds

Ah I just accidentally re-found out that you can actually also click this top button and it shows all the options, which is probably why it says "All versions". That's kinda cool, but is also very unintuitive.
