Strange visual issues when loading PS1 games #17554

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • This is a bug in RetroArch frontend
  • I have searched the existing issues

Description

Every PS1 game across multiple cores is loading with this bad graphic overlay.

Expected behavior

I expected clean visuals, especially when trying different cores

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Open PS1 file
  2. see issue

1.20

Present in the nightly version

I don't know

Platform & operating system

MAC 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB

Affected Cores

Swanstation, Beetles PSX

The issue is only happening with Swanstation, Beetle PSX cores ?

I'm sorry, I had trouble generating a log.

This happens on Swanstation & Beetles PSX core with multiple ROMs, which makes me conclude it is an issue with RetroArch. I confirmed my BIOS files are checked off, I am using Vulkan, etc

@babyblau Does switching to the software renderer from core options solve this issue?

Just tried this, did not seem to make a difference
