How to maintain some state in an algorithm for histograms, etc that is machine checkable for that state not influencing the out come.

Should there be two hooks in the TransformAlgorithm: execute(event) which returns the output of the algorithm and filter() which gets passed back the output to make a decision.

Needs to be easy to instantiate several algorithms so we encourage people to create algorithms which do one thing only
