How to use this in Linux running non single board computer (laptop's i2c port)

I'm confused, how do i use this on my linux computer.
I connect my ssd1306 128x64 display to my laptop's DDC/I2C port, it listed on "i2cdetect -y 2" at address 0x3C bus 2.
but how do I change the default bus to my computer's i2c bus? (bus 2)
