What happened?

After #9745 , the endpoints for :
node-local-dns-metrics <none> 2y225d
is showing none.

If I check the service, the selector still points to:

  selector:
    k8s-app: nodelocaldns

What did you expect to happen?

continue to work

How can we reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible)?

upgrade from v2.21 to v2.22

it doesn't seem to be a kubespray bug since this service wasn't deployed by kubespray. Although many people who based their monitoring stack on projects like: https://github.com/Thakurvaibhav/k8s , they could face this error.

This service was introduced to monitor nodelocaldns via mixins https://github.com/povilasv/nodelocaldns-mixin
