Hacktoberfest22

Handson sessions to introduce exciting DIY software tools like Git and Github. Hacktoberfest is a month long celebration of FOSS.

Session-1 - Intro to Git and Github

outcome - Students would deploy a static site using Github pages.

  • Create this event in bvjsci website and add a registration form
  • submit official event promotion request at their website
  • share special moments on social media using #hacktoberfest or #hacktoberfest2022 and tagging @digitalocean or @hacktoberfest. (remember to ask attendees for permission to use their photos.)

Agenda -

  1. Students signup for Github
  2. We introduce Markdown and help them in creating their Profile using .md file.
  3. Clone a Jekyll Static site, modify and deploy it to gh-pages.
  4. Make a PR to this repo to list their site in README.
