Currently the maximum title length is a global configuration option. For the portion of my site which is indexed and user facing, the default of 70 is fine. However, a portion of my site isn’t indexed (so SEO isn’t a concern) and is only accessed by admins (so internal people). It would be nice to be able to specify a longer (or no) title length when I set meta tags for that portion of the site and that portion only.
I don’t know if that would be an option to set_meta_tags et al (although I think then it would be the only thing that doesn’t end up in a tag, so maybe not desirable), or maybe a different keyword that creates a <title> element but isn’t limited in length (but then it would be the only keyword that turns into something else, although there are a few where additional things are added, so not too far away from some current uses). Or maybe there’s a way to do it now I’m not seeing.
Thanks!

Just decided to generate the title tag myself. The way I’m using it that’s an easy change in one place, so sufficient for me. Feel free to close this issue.
