It appears that the gap update command does not stop running occasionally and we should explore why it happens. It could be related to temporary non-availability of the Crossref REST API.

crossrefGapUpdate
             count = 1129675
         mean rate = 6.37 events/second
     1-minute rate = 0.00 events/second
     5-minute rate = 0.00 events/second
    15-minute rate = 0.00 events/second
