You don't need to run it headless. It's been a while since I tested this, but I think it will work if you plug a monitor into the HDMI connector next to the USB-C connector, and reboot. You might want to also enable the overlay driver by uncommenting the dtoverlay= line here:

I'm setting up a virtual venue and dropping off ;'jam boxes' to performers - I would love to have them also be able to use the web browser and this means enabling the video output so it boots to desktop. I'm really new to these but learning fast - is there a way I can enable video output so it's not 'headless'?
