In many universities, people do not have admin right on their machine. Would be nice to be able to directly execute noScribe without having to install it on the system.

I have to think about that. I understand the problem, but we already have so many versions of noScribe to maintain (Windows with cuda, without cuda, MacOS Apple Silicon, Intel Mac), I'm hesitant to double these by adding portable versions. The cleanest way would be if the installer would allow installing it with or without admin rights.

As a workaround on Windows: If you have an old Windows machine with admin rights, you could install noScribe there, then zip the application folder and transfer it to your work computer's desktop or so. It should run from any folder.

I may be wrong, but I think resolving this #139 would simplified automatic build of the application using GitHub Actions. It's too heavy right now no?

Thanks for the workaround about copying the exe!

Have you tested it? I'm curious to know if it works.
