Add arguments that allow the user to fine-tune the gt_merge_stack output with CSS properties. Currently, the function restricts output to bolded text in small caps, and there is no clean way around this default.

E.g.:

  • variant could accept 'normal' or 'small' for normal and small-cap text.
  • weight could accept 'normal,' 'bold,' or 'lighter'
  • size could also be set to customize the stacked size
