Bugs & coming features

Status

This project is abandoned for now. I would like to improve it, which is on my planning since the beginning of the summer (2020). So I am not sure if it will ever happen.

Bugs

Here's a list of bugs that have been found and will be fixed soon:

• The application writes debug numbers to the terminal, but debug messages are meaningless and should be removed.
• More bugs can be reported in the issues

Coming features

The following features will come in the near future:

• Being able to define which notifications are important in config.json. Unimportant notifications (i.e. group messages) can be filtered out.
• Show likes of posts.

These features are planned for the further future:

• Fade nicely to the next notification, instead of instantly showing the new notification.
• On smaller screens (i.e. 1366 x 768 in portrait mode) a lot of text is not visible. 2 solutions could be:
  • Making the sentences shorter: <user> sent you a <notification type> in: <TopicName> could become <notification icon> <user> in <TopicName>
  • Making the text smaller. Maybe let the text size be dependent on the screen size.
