This is normal and intended, you have to create a new reference image after installing.
When creating a new reference image, camera parameters that are missing in the config.ini are added.
For this purpose, values are taken that came out as the best after several tests.
Some reported that the image was too bright and others reported that the image was still too dark, but for the majority it was ok.
The tooltips have also been revised and are more informative, which should make it easier to find the right camera settings. https://jomjol.github.io/AI-on-the-edge-device-docs/Parameters/
The following parameters are relevant for brightness: CamAec2 and CamGainceiling
The Problem
I upgraded my watermeter from 15.7.0 to 16.0.0-rc1 and since then the image is very dark, obviously caused by "auto-exposure", which is on.
What I tried:
I had the same issue when upgrading to 15.7.0 from 15.6.0 early this year.
