Slynk/Swank over custom connection

I suspect this is a large feature request, but it would be super useful to be able to serve and connect to a slynk/swank server over a custom connection, something like a user-defined input/output stream (e.g. gray streams)

It looks like it might be possible without too much work on the swank side, but I'm not sure about the elisp portion.

Indeed sly needs a TCP transport layer for communicating with the server. Any abstractions over that is IMO work to be done on Emacs itself.
