What is/are your question(s)?

Looking for a recommendation for a Serial Server over TCP/IP via wifi. Would this work? https://www.amazon.com/PUSR-Converter-Ethernet-Support-USR-W610/dp/B0BX3MP7SF?ref_=ast_sto_dp If not, what specs should I be looking for? Any recommendation on how to power a device like this, should I just hardwire directly to the battery or add an inline fuse of some sort? Prior to this connection idea, I had it working fine with a Pi that was inside my house and I had a 30-foot cat5 cable acting as a long rs232 connection. Worked fine until there was a lightning strike close by that killed my controller:) I need to keep the pi inside as its running other tasks.

the USR-610 will work fine. There is some info in the wiki on setting this up with a MEBAY controller:

If you are using with Generac Evolution then you would just use 9600, N,8,1

Thanks, I purchased a USR-W610 and will power it directly to the battery with

My USR-W610 arrived and I finally got the software set up and connected to my wifi. To connect to my Evolution 2, I plan to connect the green/green White (see first image with viper connectors) to the RS485 AB screw posts interface to the USR. See any issue with that? Just checking as I am 5,000 miles away from the generator and want to make sure I don't need any other parts before I travel to install it.

Connecting a Molex generator to an OTS Serial-TCP device is exactly what I intended the device for. You may want a serial cable so that you have screws on both ends to be able to secure things, but could also be done with zip ties or something else.

A serial cable is recommended, just be sure you get one that matches the genders of the 2 plugs, I've seen Serial TCP adapters with both male and female DB9s. The adapter does come with a short Molex cable so you don't need that. Depending on the power requirements of the Serial TCP adapter, you may be able to power it via the generator controller which has the ground and power passed to the barrel plug (5.5mm x 2.1mm positive center) so a male-male barrel or a pigtail could help there. The Evo2 controller always puts out 12v, the 5v on the Evo2 only enabled briefly and then turns off if there is no RS485 device connected. There is a jumper on the adapter to pick between the 5v and 12v output, just be aware of polarity and voltage requirements of your Serial TCP adapter, or power it separately.

Perfect and good to know. That's great to hear that it comes with a Molex pigtail so I don't have to order that. I already have a barrel plug to battery direct connection cable with the fuse, similar to ones I see in some of your postings, so I'm good there for power to the serial TCP device. I'll place my order shortly once I land.
