Getting feedback in real time

Students seem very unwilling to ask for help. If they are stuck, they tend to continue trying in silence, or give up, or in the best case ask their neighbour.

If instructors are walking around looking helpful, some students will ask for help, but many will not.

We need a way to get feedback in real time so students can tell us:

• when they are stuck
• when they are confused
• when they have completed a task
