I'd like to investigate options for mesh simplification as the bottom has the same number of triangles as the top which is unnecessary (but I do appreciate would have taken much more time/complexity to implement).
Note: I'm keen to contribute this feature. I have made a fork and intend to start working on it, but didn't want to blindside with a PR down the line.
