According to deployphp/deployer#2282 deployer works with Composer 2 only in version 7 and higher.
In the current version of this repo, only deployer 6 is supported.
So it would be great to include version 7.

That would indeed be nice.

As an alternative, you could use the Deployer 7 core recipe to deploy with Composer 2: https://github.com/deployphp/deployer/blob/master/recipe/magento2.php
