write mission-critical core in a other, safe, strong-typed language, while keeping the blocks in typescript:

potential other languages

must-have criteria

good interoperability with js/ts
long-term maintenance of language
FP capabilities (like Option,...)
immutability
set operation like union, intersection, ...

nice-to-have criteria

webpack/babel integration

in order to simplify connecting blocks, one idea is to provide a overview screen where the user can connect block by drag'n'drop:
