The current TLC module needs some improvements.

adopt generic artefacts as input & output (see Reintroduce generic artifacts #61)
get rid of any path assumptions; the directory to execute in should be passed as a parameter (or set via some global option)
return meaningful error messages by extracting the required information from TLC error messages
