Overall check and potential refactoring of versioning

The current versioning manifests implementation has been quite resilient to the various updates that have been required throughout the year.

However, there were many iterative additions which were made and it's possible now that some additional modularization or refactoring might prove to be useful, especially with the introduction of radio data.

As a result, it could prove useful to consult the entire versioning module, in prospects of improving or further modularizing it.
