HTMap's singularity support currently relies on the execute node being able to do overlays, because we bind the scratch directory to a target that (probably) doesn't exist. It would be nice if we didn't do this and could therefore support older OS/Singularity versions.

After much discussion with Greg Thain about how to handle this properly, we concluded that this is probably not worth implementing right now. People can always complain to their cluster administrator if they don't have a recent Singularity or OS...
