As a follow-up from hashicorp/packer-plugin-azure#89, I'm opening this issue to propose and track making the UI available to the data sources Execute method.

Howdy ! Agreed, I'd add a new ExecUI handler in the communicator and everywhere, say we have the sdk v1.0.0, and aim for this feature to go in the v1.1.0 release. ExecUI would just call to Exec on plugins with v1.0.x and before, otherwise just work 'normally'.

Is this still pending, or can data sources now provide UI/progress beyond PACKER_LOG output?
