The current 2.* versions are marked "alpha" making it difficult to bring dependent packages such as Emblem or rendr-handlebars up to date with post-1.3 fixes such as #749. Could a new version be released that is not marked alpha or would it be more straightforward to backport a few key fixes to 1.3?

The goal is to release a full 2.0 release soon.
