Possibly re-consider or re-write or remove chapter synopsises

The chapter synopsises in this book, which don't seem to be original, are inconsistent and strange. Maija did a nice job trying to improve them a little, but I think at some point someone should take a wholistic look at all of them and either take a second pass at them, or possibly consider dropping them entirely.
