My OS:
elementary OS 5.0 Juno
Built on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Linux 4.15.0-65-generic

Given

$ asdf plugin-add swift 5.0.3
Plugin named swift already added
$ asdf install swift 5.0.3
swift 5.0.3 is already installed
$ asdf reshim swift 5.0.3

$ swift

Command 'swift' not found, but can be installed with:

There is a fork that fixes the shims: https://github.com/jfilling/asdf-swift

This plugin should be deregistered due to low quality and doing magic without asking that's non-portable and not widely-compatible.
Also, this and the fork don't work in multiple ways: it downloads ninja when it doesn't need to, doesn't support RPM-based systems, and doesn't actually work.
All-in-all, this plugin is a waste of time.

As you can see this does not have any updates for over 6 years. I forgot to mark it as archived.

Feel free to fork it and make the changes necessary for it to work with current tools.
