The exception java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: dlopen failed: library "libjsc.so" not found earlier seems strange. Is that supposed to happen?

This appears to have been a bug in the Hermes 0.5.0 parser around parsing async as an identifier in specific cases that bluebird happened to use.

Changing a line in bluebird from {value: async} to {value: async2} fixed the redbox.

The bug in the parser was fixed in dd81112. We'll try to patch that into the next patch release of Hermes.

I'm using Bluebird and RN 0.63.2 and I'm having this problem... Where in Bluebird files did you change it @avp ? The identifier async appears many times there...

OK, I've replaced all async by async2 in node_modules/bluebird/js/browser/bluebird.js and the issue is gone.

This issue is a pain in the a** because every time we add / update some node module, we have to remember to re-do this hotfix in Bluebird.js.

Is there any Hermes intermediate release that include this fix?

You can force to use v0.5.1 of hermes:

1- "hermes-engine": "0.5.1", - in your package.json in the dev dependencies
2- yarn install
3- yarn start --reset-cache

that's works for me , i'm currently using the version 0.63.2

A note for people based on the above, you have to still do a ./gradlew clean to see changes, yarn start --reset-cache / npm will not do it alone.
