With Berlin being still far away I'd like to propose EIP-2666 back on track at least for discussion. Clients did report their performance numbers, so

  • formulas proposed reflect the current state of affairs and do no impose DDoS vectors
  • there are no changes in the code other than price constants

We currently have a pending decision to audit the code from BLS12-381 operations on Rust for OpenEthereum. It would cost +$50K so we are concerned about the possibility of EVM384 being included in Berlin HF and making the audit unnecessary.

It would be very helpful for us to know your expectations of EVM384 for Berlin HF.

We'd like to continue the discussion around EIP-2938 if there's time on the call.
