Looks like its pretty doable now that its supported in Electron
electron-userland/electron-builder#5689 (comment)

@adityapatadia @zjwhitehead Native M1 support will be included in our v2 release. Launch is expected within the next week or two--final testing and debugging is in progress. Keep an eye out for an email with more info on v2.
