Steps to reproduce

  1. Join a conference
  2. See you're shown as 'You'
  3. Wonder what your actual displayname is
  4. Fail to find anywhere easily accessible to remind you what name you're using in the context of the call (e.g. is it blank? or "Chiswick"? "Element"? "Matthew (Element)"? "Matthew Hodgson"? "Matthew (Matrix)"?

Outcome

What did you expect?

Tell me what i'm called on a call, like all other VC systems

What happened instead?

I get shown as 'You', which isn't helpful.

Saw the first instance of this going horribly wrong on Thursday where someone joined a customer call with a silly/random displayname and had no idea that everyone was seeing it or that they should change it, until they got teased for it by the customer...

It looks like this has been fixed in #2530.
