Impression and perspective
This is an issue that relates to the Integrations Manager and Package Repository being developed by Elastic. Specifically, this issue is to integrate these services into Canvas for assets such as templates. We want to install, update, and delete assets independently from a release to deliver content to the community in an effective way.
Context
Elastic is developing an integration service that is a perfect way to delivery Canvas templates for our solutions such as observability, security, and search.
Finished product vision
Kibana Canvas users will be able to go into Integration Manager, or Canvas directly, and install, update, and delete templates for each solution.
Prerequisites
You must have Canvas installed and working, which is part of Kibana
Specifications
The Canvas team will create and register templates for workpads using the Package Repository of the Integration Manager. A user of Canvas will be able to see a list of all templates, and click a button to install them, just like on an online application store. The users will be able to delete them, and the application will prompt them to upgrade as well with an upgrade badge on the template.
