A new "Guided setup" button will be implemented in the global header in Kibana. A user will be able to click this button to open a dropdown panel (#139751) that shows a series of steps needed to complete a guided setup experience.

This issue is to track the implementation of the UI component piece only. Functionality should include:

  • Active/inactive state: The button should be able to be disabled
  • Dynamic button labels: By default, the label will be "Guided setup". Once a user starts a guided setup, the button label will update to reflect the current step the user is on. For example, "Guided setup: Step 1".
  • Hide/show panel: A button click should toggle the panel open and closed
