What are your thoughts on the GEDCOM X genealogy standard(s)? Would you consider aligning the FamilyTree data model/APIs with GEDCOM X?

At some point there needs to be some way of importing/exporting to/from GEDCOM so that I can get data in/out of other services. I have not yet seriously looked into what would be required to make that work. I'm aware of GEDCOM X but know very little about it. Am I right in saying that it's not widely supported yet (it looks like you can't use it to import data into the likes of Ancestry or FindMyPast at the moment)?

I cannot speak to its adoption, but it does seem to be worth putting on the roadmap.

By the way, we are kicking off development on a new project, called Gramps Online, where we plan to align the data model with GEDCOM X. Would you be interested to help out?
