Repro steps:

  1. Prepare a Debian or Ubuntu machine
  2. Install SDK 10.0.100-alpha.1.24623.3 (runtime-10.0.0-alpha.1.24620.10)

Expected:
SDK installed successfully.

Actual result:
Installing dotnet host package failed, and this causes the 10.0.100-alpha.1.24623.3 SDK installation to fail

This issue also repro's on SDK 10.0.100-preview.1.25110.2(runtime-10.0.0-preview.1.25080.5)

This issue does not repro on SDK 10.0.100-preview.2.25122.2(runtime-10.0.0-preview.2.25121.10)

You had reported it fixed as of 10 preview 2. If this resurfaces as an issue with 10 preview 2 and forward, please respond/reopen/create a new issue. Thank you!
