Major Update

Description

Currently we are updating references to Xamarin to .NET MAUI.

For topics like this one that are entirely based on Xamarin I'm adding tracking issues as we try to determine with the EF team how they will be handled: Updated, archived, removed etc.

Thanks Matt. I agree. I can take care of that.

I also vote to archive - using EF with Xamarin/.NET MAUI comes with its own set of challenges.

I'm not very familiar with the EF+MAUI story, but shouldn't we ideally have guidance for it, all the more so if there are pitfalls and challenges?

@codemillmatt, considering Xamarin is no longer supported (and .NET MAUI replaced it), should this just be deleted or actually archived? If we want it archived, do we have an archive location we are already using for content from this repo?

I'm going to defer that question to @davidbritch - he'll know what we've done with the xamarin docs (delete vs archive) better than I.

I'd think that the usual guidelines should be followed for deciding whether to archive the content, based on page views and trends.

If required, maybe it could be moved to the xamarin-docs-pr repo, whose entire contents are archived (and published to previous-versions)?

@davidbritch, that makes sense to move to the central archive for Xamarin in the xamarin-docs-pr repo, if it is archived. I sent you data for 2024-Dec by email.

Dave kindly archived this to:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/xamarin/xamarin-forms/data-cloud/data/entity-framework

Now removing the original and adding a forward link...
