ACME can be used to automatically request an SSL certificate for a certain (sub)domain. It would thus allow a standalone program (such as DSM) to request an SSL certificate automatically, for free.

This will only work for registered domain names, and not standard IP address's.
Im hesitant to say ill support a feature like this, as it seems its something more the user would want to settup forthemsleves.
