Step Functions has a new HTTP state that can most likely replace this Lambda function. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/step-functions/latest/dg/connect-third-party-apis.html

Not available in CDK quite yet aws/aws-cdk#28278, but could use custom state for now.

If I can't get it workin' I'll rewrite this function in Python.

Python > Typescript bc the ecosystem moves slower = less frequent updates needed + I wanna get some more hands on writing Python outside of the day job.
