COVID-19 Special Precautions and Conduct:

NOTE: These precautions/policies may change throughout the course of the semester.

  • Class Attendance Policy: As of August 24 2021, you are expected to attend the class in person unless you are under quarantine or isolation orders. If you are under quarantine or isolation, you must provide a copy of the orders to the instructors and course content will be made available through zoom and/or zoom recordings. While in quarantine or isolation you will still be responsible for content covered in classes that you cannot attend in person.
  • Face Coverings: Because Miami-Dade County is currently experiencing a high level of community risk for COVID-19, the University encourages masking indoors, including classrooms, especially for individuals with underlying medical conditions. CDC guidelines on masks can be found https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/masks.html, along with information on how to obtain free masks. Your ongoing adherence to campus guidelines is greatly appreciated. Remember, ’Canes Care for ’Canes. As the fall evolves, we will be sure to communicate any changes to our COVID strategy.
  • Well-Being Resources and Support: As you complete your coursework, consider how you can maintain your health and well-being as a top priority. To help you become familiar with the many programs and services available on campus, review the information collected on the Division of Student Affairs Student Well-Being and Resiliency website available at https://miami.edu/well-being. Please reach out to me or any of the resources listed on that site if you need assistance or support throughout the semester.

  • Recordings: Students are expressly prohibited from recording any part of this course.
