Thanks so much for taking the time to write all this up @Braweria! All the points make sense, and majority are already part of our plans. We just started with the quickest versions of things, to get the ball rolling faster, which is why some standard calendar features aren't quite there yet. Thanks again! |

Hi Daybridge Team!
Finally I also got the invitation to the calendar and I am very excited about it. I also must say it has less features than I previously thought! Here is my feedback for the application.
Editable Google Calendar Entries
My expectation and from many others I can guess, was being able to create and edit calendar entries that are linked to Google. This not being a feature is a big suprise to me, since that's the most basic feature in many calendar apps. It being read-only I don't understand. I might never have worked with the google calendar API, but I cannot imagine it being very hard to implement.
Merging Google Calendar Entries with Daybridge Entries
When the time comes for Google calendar entries to be editable, it should be merged with daybridge entries. So whatever category I set with daybridge, the Google calendar entry shows this in my Daybridge. I don't expect that category to be represented on my Google Calendar, however.
Adding a Description to Entries
Another basic feature is missing in my opinion. I am unable to add a description to a calendar entry to describe more about what is happening. I could for example make a list of the people that will join, or add a Meetings Link, like from Google Meet, Zoom, MS Teams... and so on.
Location
You can add a location right now, and that's great. I also love the graphic it shows, really nice. What I would also like to be able to do is to add a Meetings Link as my location, like in the previous section mentioned; Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, MS Teams, other online conferences
On top of that. A location could also be a room number in a building.
I feel the current way for location is limiting myself, and the current constraint of not having a description makes it even worse.
Adding Events for a specific time, no Time Block
I also like to use my Calendar to add events that happen at a specific time. As a simple example, the sunrise happens at a specific time, so I want to add at what time it happens, but I wouldn't add how long it would take. Having a nicer feature for this would be great.
Choosing the time
When I choose the time on the desktop version, I either have a list of options I need to click or I need to write it out. And it's not perfect at all and personally I dislike it a lot. I would much prefer to have a clock interface and choose my time from there, similar to how the Android App does it.
Here is an example. I have set the start time to 11:30 and want to set the end time also at 11:30. Exactly the same time, not in the future or the past. But I am unable to do so from this interface, as you can see from the image below.
On the Android App however I can set both to the same time without issues. There is big inconsistencies.
On the Android Version I also have the option directly to choose the date and time, while the Desktop version only lets me choose the start date and time, and the end time. And if the end time happens to be past 00:00, then automatically the end date input appears. I would much prefer it to be like the Android version, where both is available from the get go.
24 Hour System
I want to be able to set the time on a 24 hour inerface, and not the AM/PM interface. It is very counter intuitive for me and I believe many others as well.
Accessibility
On Android when I create an event and I tap "Add title" I wait for some kind of feedback, that the input is focused. I tapped it a few times before I realise the blinker
|
is there, but the colour choice for it is really bad. You barely can see it on that purple background. This needs to be fixed. I am not colour blind.Cancel "Add new event" on Android App
This is just UX. When I click on the X in the top left it asks me if I really want to discard the event. The action of discarding it should be on the right and not on the left.
I read from left to right, and this app is created by people who also read from left to right. It should be "Keep editing" "Discard" and not the other way around. This is giving extra traction in the usability, because now I have to "go back" and tap "Discard".
The primary action of canceling the event is "Discard" and not "Keep editing". UX topic you see implemented in many other areas on the web as well.
Hide Free Time
The Hide Free Time toggle should be next to the "Mute Work" toggle. I would like easier access to it.
