Unable to actviate Azure Dall-E plugin #1764

Hello Team,

Im facing following issue:

GPT and Dall-E models are hosted in Azure OpenAI service.

GPT-4 and Turbo 3,5 works fine in LibreChat

However I cannot make DallE-3 plugin working.

Any help is much appreciated. Here is my env:

I just tested it and it's working. These are the main variables to make it work:

DALLE3_AZURE_API_VERSION=2023-12-01-preview
DALLE3_BASEURL=https://instance-name.openai.azure.com/openai/deployments/dall-e-3/
DALLE3_API_KEY=yourkey

make sure there are no spaces at the start or end of these values. your deployment name should be dall-e-3 which i think it is.

it is in fact something with your deployment configuration, make sure your baseURL is correct because it looks like Azure OpenAI is being posted to (the regular OpenAI API service would not mention deployment names)

are you able to send any messages without any plugin selected? can you share your error/debug logs when encountering the issue?

they are located in app/api/logs inside your docker container or LibreChat/api/logs if running locally

Your DALL-E setup looks good but your general azure setup might need some work. See this guide. Azure setup is tricky but basically you need to match all your deployment names with the model names on librechat (until this is implemented): #1390

So this is definitely a configuration issue. This is super confusing as I'm managing several deployments and I was indeed encountering the same issue as you when incorrectly matching instances/regions to keys/deployment names.

Ok I discovered the root cause of our issues. When using plugins, I built a protection for calling models that don't support function/tool calling. It will be necessary to remove this when using azure, after which I can successfully call this with the above setup:

Terrific ! Works like a charm.

Indeed, it's crucial to keep a proper deployment name convention for Azure OpenAI Models. For example :

It fails when I use :
