Currently, rootless building doesn't work (though the patch is 8 lines long to enable it). The issue is that currently runtime-tools outputs an old runtime-spec configuration, which is incompatible with the new one. runc (with rootless containers) doesn't support that older spec version, and umoci uses runtime-tools to generate the output JSON.

Effectively this is blocked on opencontainers/runtime-tools#349, and the subsequent change in umoci.
