sunrise
Utility to calculate sunrise and sunset times.
Core code was found on source forge: see citations in code.
Typical use with the at utility that might be run at midday using cron.
$ at -f script `sunrise -et "%H:%M" -h -1`
This will run script at one hour before sunset.
See lush.sh and lushscpt.sh for iexample framework that uses lutrond (lutctrl)
to schedule Luton lighting control events.
Output of sunrise -u
Usage:
sunrise [options]
prints sunrise/sunset times for today
options modify behaviour thus:
-b begining of day. Print sunrise time
-e end of day. Print sunset time
-t "format" Print time using strftime format strings
-s silent or status print nothing
return value = 0-daylight 1-darkness
-h offset hour offset. Use to test for time before/after sunrise/set
e.g. sunset -sh 1 will return 1 until one hour after sunrise
then 0, changing to 1, one hour after sunset
-d day specify day
-m month specify month
-y year specify year
-l lat specify latitude
-o lon specify longitude
-u print this usage text
