"Allow...." vs. "Avoid/Force/Deny/Surpress/Disallow ..." - Purpose VS Youtube defaults VS ImprovedTube structure consistency #719
Comments
i think it would be better that all these aestetic enanchement are off by default like in browsers (hardware support or cosmetics) to benefit old and low end devices equally and turned on only by manual interaction from the settings. |
hi @urfausto yes, default is the same both ways. the reason to ask is the names "allow 60fps" vs "deny 60fps" |
shouldn't it be "force 60fps"? |
yes "force 30fps" or "force 30fps (=deny 60fps)" |
allow 60fps and deactivated by default. |
Yet youtube allows 60fps by default (if available) :D |
i have it switched off because my notebook is slow as a snail and very old. |
EXAMPE: "Allow 60fps", "Allow HDR",... - Improvedtube's feature is actually to deny these (=Force 30fps, Force SDR)
These are "ON" by default (=Youtube's default)
And Improvedtube only does something when you disable them.
(maybe for a consistent look, ImprovedTube buttons should be/look "OFF" by default when no feature runs..)
(also while we cant make it perfect for everybody, we try to sort features well, starting with the popular & efficient ones)
