Peanut butter blossom cookies

A holiday classic.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Additional granulated sugar
  • About 36 Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Place parchment paper on two cookie sheets and set aside.
  2. In large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1 stick butter and 1 egg.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder until dough forms.
  4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
  6. Immediately press 1 kiss in the center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
