Metadata format changed in version 1.0.16 but the change broke all custom-generated metadata because it remained in the old format.
The bug has been reported and backwards compatibility for older custom-generated metadata has been added in version 1.0.18.
Metadata now has version field for (possible) future non-major release backwards compatibility.
