Express Templating Engine: express-boxwood

I've tried creating a template engine for express-js for templating boxwood files, but it seems not to be working

// express-boxwood.js
import {compile} from 'boxwood'

const boxwoodEngine = (filePath, options, callback) =>
  compile(filePath, options)
    .then(({ template }) => callback(null, template(options)))
    .catch((err) => callback(err))

export default boxwoodEngine

and then using them in express app like this:

import express from 'express';
import boxwoodEngine from './express-boxwood.js';

const app = express();
app.set('views', './views');

app.engine('js', boxwoodEngine);
           
app.set('view engine', 'js'); 

app.get('/', (req, res) => {
  res.render('index', { title: 'Hello Boxwood'});
});

const port = process.env.PORT || 3000;

app.listen(port, () =>
  console.log(`Server listening at http://localhost:$/{port}`)
);

The views templates are the ones as mentioned in boxwood usage docs

Can anyone figure out how to make this work ?
I've tried the same using Deno's vento templating engine & it worked fine.. installable as an npm package express-vento

But this always returns some sort of error

I do have the express-boxwood npm package, it wasn't updated for a while though (long story short, the engine changed a lot over time). I'll try to update it today :).
