The ISS system sucked in LARGE part because it didn't have search and because as an operator findability is critical and must be fast and effortless.
Incidents has search! Hooray! However, with so many incidents being logged with many of the same words, search will degrade in usefulness over the week. It would be grand to augment this functionality with ANY of the following in order to make the user experience for operators delightful:
"Fave/Star" particular incidents and be able to quickly access a focused, filtered list of those incidents
Bookmarks to access frequently used searches
Boolean search operators (useful especially when your most obvious search keyword(s) are frequently used in many incidents)
Faceted search (cf. searches for "vehicle" vs. title:vehicle vs type:vehicle)
Per-operator tagging and tag searches
Open MULTIPLE Dispatch Queue windows simultaneously allowing you to keep custom sorted/search-filtered listing views, easily accessible and ready for when you change modes of searching/viewing. Compare this with constantly having to re-sort and re-search the window when switching between the activities of viewing/monitoring the queue and searching for particular tickets or class of tickets.
Obviously all of those things would be overkill but any one of them would help ease any difficulties related to findability...

We need to see how the software is actually used to decide which of these are useful. They’ll need to be separate tickets, ‘cuz one ticket with a bunch of suggestions is not a good ticket, but let’s sit on this for now.
